A Day in the Life of the Rescued Kids

Here are some great photos showing their day. We begin every morning with devotions of songs and a lesson. Since the kids speak different languages, the lesson is translated from English to Karen to Burmese. We all then sit down to eat breakfast. This morning we had rice with vegetable soup and egg. The kids have an hour Thai lesson then learn basic chores around the house. The Thai lesson is perfect for us… teaching the 3 and 4 year olds is right at our level! We are still far from learning the alphabet, but we're making baby steps:)

We are having the most amazing time here! It has been such an experience getting to know all of these children, and we are so excited to see what will unfold through our stay. That's right, we've decided to stay for _____? at least 7mos due to Kevin's wedding, but we'll see when we're guided!

  1. Have you taught them yet how to maintain their lawns with nothing more than a road flare? Are you seriously staying over there for that long? I am jealous. By the way, did you see who our country overwhelmingly elected President? I'm slowly regaining faith in American politics. Baby steps. Have fun you guys, love the blog.
