We headed into the nearby village of Sukawati to find a traditional Balinese breakfast and had some amazing food! We wandered around the village till we found a little restaurant full of locals. They only had three items on the menu so we nervously pointed to something called “Mie Ayum Bakso”, the most expensive item on the menu for 50 cents. Other than our mouths catching fire, it turned out to be a delight! Later we heard that it’s a very traditional dish of noodles, chicken, meatballs AND spicy chili sauce, which Lori poured on plentifully. Now we know what Johnny Cash was really singing about…
